中国での２日間の講演

2025年9月19日・20日の2日間、中国・桂林にて開催されたWoodpecker社主催の国際歯科セミナーにおいて、当院院長・髙山祐輔と歯科衛生士・杉山幸菜が講演を行いました。

講演タイトルは「Microscopic Preventive Clinical Innovations from Japan」。

参加者は約200名にのぼり、中国をはじめ、タイ、シンガポール、ベトナム、エジプト、ドイツ、イタリア、サウジアラビア、ルーマニアなど、世界各国から多くの歯科医師・歯科衛生士が参加されました。

講演では、国内では珍しい完全自由診療歯科医院のシステムのもと、理想を追求しながら当院で日々実践している包括歯科医療、マイクロスコープを用いた予防・精密診療、そして歯科医師と歯科衛生士が連携して行うチーム医療について紹介しました。

1日目は約6時間にわたる講演を行い、2日目にはマイクロスコープを用いたハンズオン（実習）セミナーを実施しました。

 

■ 世界から関心を集めている新百合ヶ丘南歯科の診療スタイル

一人の医療スタッフが1日に3〜4名の患者さんを丁寧に診療するという当院のスタイルは、医療として理想を追求した診療形態である一方、実際に実践できている歯科医院は世界的にも多くありません。

そのため、「治療精度と予防の両立」「患者さんとの信頼関係を大切にする診療」として、今回のセミナーでも大きな注目を集めました。

海外においても、保険制度が理想的な歯科医療の実践を妨げている現状や、患者さんの健康意識の違いによって予防医療が十分に選択されていない点は、共通の課題として挙げられています。

歯科衛生士がマイクロスコープを使用して行うメインテナンスや歯周基本治療は、治療精度の向上にとどまらず、「診療の可視化」「記録の共有」「長期的な信頼関係の構築」に大きく貢献する点が高く評価されました。

当院が理想を追求して構築してきた診療システムは、世界的な視点から見ても一つのモデルとして受け取られ、各国の歯科医師・歯科衛生士の先生方から多くの質問が寄せられました。

 

■ 精密メインテナンスとチーム医療の重要性

講演では、当院のメインテナンスに欠かせないマイクロスコープとエアーポリッシャーの活用についても詳しく紹介しました。

従来のPMTCと比較して、歯面への傷やダメージを抑えながら、より確実にバイオフィルムを除去できる方法として、日常臨床の中でどのように活用しているかを、実演形式で解説しました。

また、近年制度整備が進みつつある中国の歯科衛生士教育に関連し、歯科医師と歯科衛生士がどのように連携し、チームとして診療を行うべきかについても高い関心が寄せられました。

 講演後の1日は、Woodpecker社の社員の方にご同行いただき、桂林の観光を楽しむ機会にも恵まれました。

今回の講演を通して、理想を追求してきた当院の診療スタイルが、国や文化を越えて共有できるものであることを実感しました。この経験を糧に、 より質の高い歯科医療を提供できるよう努めてまいります。

On September 19–20, 2025, an international dental seminar organized by Woodpecker was held in Guilin, China.
Over the course of two days, our clinic director, Yusuke Takayama, DDS, and dental hygienist Yukina Sugiyama, RDH, were invited to give lectures at this event.

The title of the lecture was
“Microscopic Preventive Clinical Innovations from Japan.”

Approximately 200 participants attended the seminar, including dentists and dental hygienists from China, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Romania, and other countries.

In the lecture, we introduced the clinical philosophy and systems of our practice, which operates under a fully private dental care model that remains rare in Japan, while continually pursuing an ideal form of dentistry.
Topics included comprehensive dental care, microscope-assisted preventive and precision dentistry, and team-based treatment through close collaboration between dentists and dental hygienists.

On the first day, a six-hour lecture was delivered, followed by a hands-on training session using dental microscopes on the second day.

■ A Clinical Style of Dentistry Drawing Global Attention

At our clinic, each clinician carefully treats only three to four patients per day.
This approach represents a model of dentistry that pursues an ideal balance between treatment precision and prevention, yet is rarely implemented in daily practice worldwide.

As a result, our clinical style attracted significant attention during the seminar as an example of dentistry that values both high-quality care and long-term trust with patients.

In many countries, insurance systems can limit the realization of ideal dental care, and differences in patients’ health awareness often make preventive dentistry difficult to implement. These challenges were recognized as common global issues.

Microscope-assisted maintenance and periodontal basic therapy performed by dental hygienists were highly evaluated not only for improving clinical accuracy, but also for contributing to
“visualization of treatment,” “shared clinical records,” and “the building of long-term patient trust.”

The clinical system we have developed through the pursuit of ideal dentistry was regarded as a practical model of patient-centered care, prompting many thoughtful questions from dentists and dental hygienists around the world.

■ The Importance of Precision Maintenance and Team-Based Care

During the lecture, we also introduced the use of dental microscopes and air polishers, which are essential tools in our maintenance protocols.
Compared with conventional PMTC, this approach minimizes damage to the tooth surface while allowing more reliable biofilm removal. Its application in daily clinical practice was explained through live demonstrations.

In addition, as dental hygienist education systems in China continue to develop, there was strong interest in how dentists and dental hygienists can collaborate effectively as a team to deliver high-quality dental care.
